The journey began in the US in 1980 with a wide range of dessert mixes, and was named, Michigan Dessert. Shortly after and with the same innovative and personal approach that characterised Michigan Dessert, the Company established its savoury business, American Saucery. Business boomed and it became difficult to operate two different companies. So it was decided to merge the company and keep the two names as just brands. Hence the merge: MID for Michigan Dessert and AS from American Saucery led to MIDAS. The fact that it was also the name of the Greek king further enforced the company vision of attaining the highest gold standards in food. The journey continued when Midas was launched in India in 1996, with a focus on both desserts and seasonings. Since then, Midas Foods India has written a heroic saga of its own.
